Access Mini Golf is the result of a passion for mini golf, the desire to helps others, and some interesting circumstances that led us on this journey.

Upon retiring from 30+ years of service / work with county government, as the Director of the Office for Persons with Disabilities, and the county’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, Tim turned his love of golf, playing mini golf, and his knowledge of accessibility, into Access Mini Golf.

While still working for county government, Tim ran for and was elected as an Aldermen in his city. While Alderman, Tim created and ran the city’s mini golf invitational, which had employees representing their departments in the annual event. There were 18 departmental teams that participated each year. The invitational was designed as a team building activity, as well as to raise money for the city’s parks and library. Through the eight years of running this event, over $50,000 was raised and split between the two benefactors.

Prior to working with county government, Tim worked for five years at the local independent living center. While there he met Patty, and a couple years later they were married. They’ve been married over 36 years now.

Prior to retiring, Patty spent her career serving others as a teacher, an at home day care provider, and a music therapist.

Prior to meeting and marrying Patty, Tim joined the disability community by having a diving accident in Lake Michigan. As a result of the accident, Tim is a C-5 quadriplegic, and wheelchair user.

Tim and Patty, together with family and friends, bring you Access Mini Golf.
